The Thoiry estate is a unique space to see animals.
The Thoiry estate includes a magnificent 90-hectare ZOO with more than 750 animals and a SAFARI area, a huge space where animals live freely. The Safari part can be done by car or bush truck, just like in Africa!
Thoiry is also an amusement park with spectacular playgrounds. Finally, it is also a castle to discover.
It is recommended to plan a full day if you want to make the most of the Thoiry area.
All activities are included in the ticket price (except for the zipline over the lions and the bush truck).

Le safari de Thoiry

Thoiry is unique thanks to its safari which allows you to see the animals in the middle of nature
The Thoiry safari, an area designed as an African reserve, is done by car because the animals roam freely in the reserve
The tour of about 1 hour allows you to see elephants, giraffes, hippopotamuses, ostriches for the African part. In the American part, we see bears and wolves. and coyotes…
For safety reasons, the safari must be done by car and it is of course absolutely forbidden to get out of the car
If you don’t have a car, you can take the bush truck (option to be added to the ticket price)

Le zoo de Thoiry

Lhe zoo of Thoiry is the part where you can discover the animals on foot. More than 130 species of animals are gathered. In particular, we see:

hyenas, lions and Siberian tigers through glass tunnels or from walkways that overlook the area dedicated to big cats
Birds of prey in the gigantic 500m2 and 10-metre-high aviary
the gorilla house where Eba, Ayo, Tambo and Wazungu live, 4 males aged between 7 and 18 years old
a family of raccoons and arctic foxes
all kinds of lemurs on the LemurTrek : bridges that connect the lemur islands. We see white-fronted lemurs, black lemurs, red-bellied lemurs, black and white lemurs, red lemurs…
not to mention parakeets, monkeys, snakes, felines, camels, beavers, kangaroos and dozens of other species with fur, feathers or scales…

During your visit to Thoiry Zoo, don’t miss the feeding of the animals (free activities included in the price of the ticket). You will be able to chat and exchange with the keepers and attend the feeding of the animals.

Zoo safari ticket includes access to the “Wild Lights”
It’s magical: illuminated animal sculptures are placed in the zoo park
This event takes place every winter from October 29 to March 10, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m

The Air Park Safari (for young and old)

1,500 m2 of bouncing net area stretched between the trees, at a height of 9 metres

This is the island of mysteries, a place where children (under the supervision of their parents) will be able to have fun and go tobogganing

The labyrinth

the “Great Labyrinth Challenge”: a participative and fun game in the middle of nature with the solving of riddles to get out of this labyrinth “alive”
unity is strength, stay together! The adventure is more fun with others and it’s less anxiety-provoking than being alone
The game lasts between 30 minutes and 1 hour
There is a special course for baby adventurers in strollers accompanied by their parents, of course!!

Le château de Thoiry et les jardins

A visit to the castle and its gardens
It takes place only on weekends, in the afternoon from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. (indicative hours, subject to change by its occupants)
The castle is still inhabited by Count Edmond de Panouse, his wife Colomba and their children. It is the 13th generation of this family to live there

ANOTHER 2 OR 3 LITTLE THINGS

Thoiry is a very exotic place, and yet very close to Paris: 45 minutes from Paris and 20 minutes from Versailles
Plan the day if you want to enjoy all the attractions and take the time to explore the entire grounds of the Thoiry Zoo
3 restaurants (indoor or with terrace) await you for the lunch break: the Cantine de l’explorateur (every day during the school holidays from 12 noon to 3 pm), the Camp des Yurtes (every day the Thoiry ZooSafari is open, from 12 noon to 3 pm) and the Masoala (from 2 pm to 5 pm, depending on the weather and closed in winter). We advise you to check the opening days and hours before coming
