The toy museum in Poissy
The Poissy Toy Museum is located in the west of Paris (78), in the fortified gatehouse of the Abbey of the Royal Priory dating from the fourteenth century. Itexhibits nearly 600 games and toys, made between 1850 and 1950, with an unprecedented approach in France to toys and children’s culture. The collection has been enriched and exhibits toys since the renovation of the museum, until the 2000s. Interactive mechanical, digital, visual and sound animations are offered to the visitor. A tactile trail and play areas complete the collection. The course is embellished with 4 play areas. Grandparents will be happy to take their grandchildren there.
- The Toy Museum is a picturesque and timeless place, housed in an old fortified gatehouse dating from the fourteenth century
- It offers many surprises, especially for children: teddy bears from another era, puppets, porcelain dolls, tea sets, rocking horses, cars, electric trains and board games from another time
- In our opinion, the highlight of the visit is the attic with its network of electric trains.
- Entertainment and play areas are available for children on the tour
- The collections evolve and new objects are regularly presented to the public
