The Ferme de Paris: an educational farm

The Ferme de Paris is a 5-hectare farm, designed for children. Admission is free. It is located in the heart of the Bois de Vincennes, not far from the Vincennes racecourse where the Super Sundays take place (another free event).
This farm is managed according to organic farming practices, with respect for the environment and animal welfare. No synthetic chemicals (fertilizers, pesticides, antibiotics) or GMOs are used, and organic matter is recycled. The land is divided between crops (orchards, educational vegetable gardens, demonstration plots of field crops and permaculture), pastures and shelters for animals. At the farm, we discover:

  • An orchard that brings together a collection of fruit trees
  • Vegetable gardens that show a great diversity of vegetables and aromatic and medicinal plants
  • The Grain Field
  • The food forest, an island of freshness in summer
  • On weekends or weekdays, families can attend and participate in the work on the farm
  • farm animals: sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, turkeys, geese and rabbits.

What animals can be seen at the Bois de Vincennes farm?

  • The Normandy Jars and geese, the Coucou de Rennes hens and roosters, the Royal turkeys and turkeys, the ducks and ducks of Rouen
  • Rabbits and rabbits Fauve de Bourgogne
  • Gascon gilts
  • The goats of the ditches, the sheep of Ouessant

Our opinion on the Paris educational farm

While some parents may find the place simple and the animals too few, we love this place because it is accessible to all, entertaining and informative for children, free and always a joy for city families to take their children among goats, sheep and rabbits.

The sheep spend the night at the police station

  • 10 ewes and 6 chickens were stolen from the Paris farm in June 2020. The unfortunate women had been abandoned in a vehicle near Drancy.
  • They found their enclosures safe and sound after spending the night in the courtyard of the police station. It was the crying of a baby whose mother sheep had been stolen that alerted the keepers the day after the theft.
