The Oval Room is the jewel of the BNF

The Oval Room is the emblematic room of the BNF. In September 2022, it became accessible to all audiences for the first time. Before, this place was reserved for researchers. With 43 m long, 32 m wide, 18 m high and more than 20,000 books, this place is simply spectacular!

An ideal comic book library

  • The Oval Room becomes an essential place for the consultation of comic books in Paris, with 9000 albums in free access.
  • There are comic books from its origins, in the 1830s, to the most recent publications such as the latest Asterix.
  • All geographical areas are represented: Franco-Belgian comics and new and European comics are in the majority. But there are also a lot of Asian comics, especially manga. There are also American comics (comics and South American comics), also comics from Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, etc.
  • Our tip : a nice place to show the children an architectural marvel and to have a good time among the books
