When the Place du Châtelet becomes the place of the theatres !

• With the “Festival de la Place”, Paris celebrates the end of the renovation of the Théâtre de la Ville- Sarah Bernardt, after 6 years of work
• For 4 free weekends and a big evening from September 9 to October 15, the Place du Châtelet becomes the place of the theaters and the place of free shows for all
• On this occasion, in an artistic and joyful effervescence, new spaces are opened for the public and artists to meet and share new experiences outside the traditional framework of the theater

On the program of the “Festival de La Place”:

• September 9 and 10 – “Make the place! The Place du Châtelet is reinventing itself”

The Théâtre de la Ville invites the choreographers Hofesh Shechter for an outdoor version, Saïdo Lehlou with 100 dancers and Ambra Senatore for a choreographic walk

A hip-hop battle and DJs will bewitch the crowd at nightfall

• 15 – 17 September – “The square in motion to celebrate the new age of the Théâtre de la Ville“

Ecology will be at the heart of a meeting between the artists who will think together about Paris, from the Sablons to the Place du Châtelet, via the Espace Cardin.

• 18 – 24 September – “Place à l’Afrique sur la place” at the Théâtre du Châtelet and the Espace Cardin

Shows, debates, meetings, literature, DJs: artists from Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, South Africa and Chad.

• October 1 – 15 – “Place à la jeunesse”: pro hip hop

The Théâtre de la Ville-Sarah Bernhardt will open its doors wide on Wednesday 4 and Thursday 5 October to all children, schools and families. A free event for everyone up to 14 years old.

At the Théâtre du Châtelet, the Battle Pro World Finals

• October 7 – 8 – The Great Vigil of the Théâtre de la Ville – Sarah Bernhardt

From Saturday 7 October at 6 pm to Sunday 8 October at 6 pm, for 24 hours non-stop we will be able to share and meet in the new spaces of the Théâtre de la Ville-Sarah Bernhardt. More than 100 artists will take turns for this reunion evening.
