The exhibition “We the Commune”
- This exhibition is presented on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Commune.
- This is a free outdoor exhibition. This is also the case for the exhibition of giant sculptures “Le Chat déambule” on the Champs-Elysées and the photo exhibition “Invitation au Voyage” in the 12th arrondissement of Paris
- The exhibition “We the Commune” is itinerant. It is presented successively on the gate that surrounds the City Hall, on the Rue de Rivoli side until April 18. Then from April 20 to May 9, it will be installed on the gates of the Gare de l’Est. Finally, from 11 to 27 May, it will be exhibited on the gates of the Buttes-Chaumont (19th)
- The 72 days of the Commune are represented by 50 life-size figures who all played a role in the popular uprising. These figures are accompanied by texts relating historical anecdotes related to this period of the history of Paris.
- These figurines were designed by the French artist Dugudus, graffiti artist, poster artist and poster artist
- They are famous characters such as Arthur Rimbaud, Gustave Courbet, Gavroche and Causette or little-known, teachers, bootmakers, lawyers, singers…
- They represent the Communards in their diversity. Through these 50 figures, find the tireless militants as well as the simple anonymous people of the Parisian people with the crowd of insurgents
- Enter into history, theirs and ours… Discover their faces and their roles thanks to the explanatory and educational labels that children and their parents will be able to read
- The exhibition is suitable for children from 10 years old, the explanatory texts are at child’s height and the figures are life-size, at human height, which allows selfies in the company of Louise Michel!
