Our tips for visiting the Eiffel Tower
- If you haven’t booked your tickets, arrive by 9 a.m. at the latest to avoid the queue (ticket offices open at 9:30 a.m.)
- If you are visiting Paris during the school holidays, it is best to book your tickets online. Ideally, you should book in advance, within 2 months of your visit to Paris, because it gets booked up very quickly
- If you are with little ones, tell the children the history of the Tower thanks to the game booklet “Follow Gus” – (to be downloaded from the Tower’s website)
- Don’t forget your illustrated map of Paris, which will come in handy once you’re at the top to show Paris to the kids (there are street vendors around the Eiffel Tower)
- It is not absolutely necessary to climb to the top of the Eiffel Tower. Already, from the 2nd floor, the view is magnificent. To get to the top by elevators, it’s a bit complicated. You have to change the elevator on the 2nd floor and allow an extra hour of visit because there is often a queue to take the elevators that lead to the top floor
- If you are with teenagers, we suggest you climb to the 2nd floor of the Eiffel Tower on foot. It’s sporty (674 steps all the same!), and there is less waiting because the brave are rare. Here is an idea to let off steam for your teenagers. Allow a good half hour!
Paris by Night from the Eiffel Tower
