What you will discover at the Curie Museum

The Curie Museum is located in the Val de Grace district on the Curie Campus. It immerses us in the history of Radioactivity and its medical applications. It allows us to discover the world and the story of Pierre and Marie Curie, 5 times Nobel Prize winners. Investigation booklets allow the youngest to discover in a fun and educational way the career of these two illustrious scientists who rest not far away in the Pantheon.

  • The museum’s permanent collection presents : Marie Curie’s office and laboratory, the history of radioactivity and radiotherapy, the different stages of the Curies’ and Joliot-Curies’ scientific discoveries, the family with five Nobel Prizes
  • This museum is made up of archives, documents and ancient objects.

The museum is organized into 4 main themes:

  • The family with 5 Nobel Prizes
  • Le Radium
  • Chemistry and biology
  • The Curie Foundation: treating cancer

Family activities at the museum

  • Booklets-surveys are given free of charge to children and pre-teens at the reception for self-guided tours (duration about 50 minutes): “The Radium Race at the Curie Museum” (for 8-12 year olds) and “Investigation Trail at the Curie Museum” (for 13-15 year olds).
  • Every Saturday at 3 p.m., the museum offers activities for adults and children. It is advisable to book because the workshops are quickly full. These workshops are free of charge

In the Museum Gardens: RADIUM215 PAR C215

  • It was Marie Curie who created this small garden in 1912. It wanted a pleasant setting in which to carry out its work
  • Street Art exhibition in the garden: C215 is a street artist who painted the portraits of Pierre and Marie Curie, Irène and Frédéric Joliot-Curie on the facades of the museum
