Space Mission offers visitors a journey of today and tomorrow into the space universe.
The new permanent exhibition at the Cité des sciences et de l’industrie offers the opportunity to step into the shoes of an astronaut during a five-stage visit: explore, travel, transit, stay and question
Welcome to the space world of today and tomorrow!
- EXPLORE: the visitor gets to know the objects and machines that go where Man cannot yet go… Because security and time in space do not have the same meanings as on Earth. Probes and rovers collect images and sounds, analyze and observe
- TRAVEL : thanks to an immersive show, the whole family is part of a space expedition. The mission? Drilling on Europa, a moon of Jupiter. Thrills guaranteed on take-off and landing. Launchers, propulsion, and trajectories will no longer hold any secrets for you
- TRANSITER : You will be able to meet Orion (replica), the spacecraft that was sent uncrewed around the moon in 2022. It is part of this major Artemis program, along with the European habitation module of the Lunar Gateway space station
- STAY: Perhaps a future manned mission? On the moon, we will have to recycle and use local resources, adapt to the constraints of the moon, live independently… and by means of a super exciting multimedia game, it’s a full day on Mars experienced!
- QUESTION: Finally, the journey of this super exhibition ends with the question of space and the universe… An audiovisual device gives the floor to great researchers, who explain to us the motivations of our societies, the historical attraction of sending humans into space
WITH THE FAMILY, AROUND THE EXHIBITION
- Several animations, participatory and even scripted conferences are organized to go further in the discovery of the space universe:
- From 9 years old: a walk under the stars (balcony)
- For 16+ year olds : space architecture (auditorium), future astronaut: like a bear in winter
- From 10 years old: the interstellar odyssey, immediate boarding (planetarium)
- You will also find children’s documentaries and a great activity book for 8-12 year olds to accompany or prepare the children for the visit
