Stunning and magnificent, the Atelier des Lumières takes us on an explosive immersive experience!

Le Douanier Rousseau, in the Land of Dreams
It is with Henri Rousseau, known as the “customs officer”, that the second part of the exhibition continues
- In thenineteenth century, attracted by the greenhouses of the Jardin des Plantes and its menagerie, the painter captured all his inspiration
- Between exotic plants and strange animals, he swaps reality for a re-enchanted universe with bright colors and freed from norms
- Without ever having left France, Douanier Rousseau transports us in turn to a lush jungle or to a ball court, makes us meet dangerous tigers or meet languid muses
- The Atelier des Lumières succeeds in transporting us to the world of the most famous of naïve painters as in a waking dream
The Atelier des Lumières, a cultural venue in Paris
- The Atelier des Lumières opened in the spring of 2018 in a former foundry in the 11th arrondissement of Paris. It is a very large exhibition space perfectly suited to the ambitions of a Parisian cultural venue.
- The founding principle is to put technology at the service of the artistic tradition by appropriating classic pictorial works to make gigantic video projections.
- It’s another way to organize exhibitions, to discover art, it’s amazing and it will appeal to young audiences, that’s for sure!
- In a space of 3300 m2 and 10 meters high, the works are projected on the floor, ceiling and walls.
- It’s a visual shock, The colors explode. Music accompanies the projection. We are immersed in an XXL sound and light show. More than 3000 images set in motion by 140 laser video projectors make this immersive art possible thanks to a spatial sound system
