Paris has thousands of monuments : cathedrals, churches, museums, castles or symbolic places that have marked the history of Paris and the history of France.
These Parisian monuments constitute an exceptional heritage. The Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral (and its 380 steps to climb to the top), the Sacré-Coeur basilica on the Montmartre hill (admission is free), the Eiffel Tower are among the most visited monuments in Paris.
Many Parisian monuments are free for minors and residents under 25 years old. Some monuments are open at night. For example, the Arc de Triomphe and its splendid view of Paris and the Champs-Elysées.
