Sally Gabori, une artiste aborigène contemporaine, une oeuvre profondément originale et lumineuse
- Sally Gabori began painting in 2005, around the age of 80
- She is now considered one of Australia’s greatest contemporary artists
- Mirdidingkingathi Juwarnda Sally Gabori was born around 1924 on Bentinck Island, in northern Australia. It belongs to the Kaiadilt people. Having had to leave her native island following a cyclone in 1948, she was never able to return to live there
- His works celebrate his native land and his belonging to the Kaiadilt people
- His monumental and very colorful paintings, seemingly abstract, are topographical references and stories that tell his story, and celebrate his ancestors
- We are caught up in the combination of colors and the composition of the paintings. You don’t need to speak kaiadilt to be moved by this original artist
- A bright and lively exhibition, very accessible to children of all ages
Sally Gabori, l’exposition à la Fondation Cartier pour l’Art Contemporain
- We really like the Fondation Cartier pour l’Art Contemporain
- This very modern building has a very nice little garden, very pleasant in good weather. You can enjoy very good ice creams there!
- It is an ideal place in hot weather. Conditioned indoors and cool in the small garden for afternoon tea
- The Cartier Foundation is located between the Montparnasse district and the Luxembourg Gardens
- It takes about 15 minutes on foot to get from the Cartier Foundation to the Luxembourg Gardens
