The Petite Galerie of the Louvre Museum
- The Petite Galerie is located in the Richelieu wing of the Louvre Museum
- It is a space dedicated especially to young audiences, but the quality of the themes addressed and the works exhibited make it an exciting place for all adults and children alike
- Each year, the Petite Galerie offers a different exhibition for a period of nine months. It deals with subjects accessible to all ages, from 5-6 years old.
- At the moment, the exhibition deals with the “figure of the artist”. This exhibition accompanies the cycle that the museum is dedicating in 2019-2020 to the geniuses of the Renaissance
- This 250m2 place is the subject of a very beautiful scenography: beautiful colors, simple graphics, careful lighting, simple and educational explanations
- At the Petite Galerie, it is real works that are on display, and not copies or second-rate pieces taken out of the reserves. For the duration of each exhibition, the works come from the rooms of the Louvre Museum or are borrowed from other museums

- The exhibition explores how the artist has gone from being a craftsman to a celebrated artist throughout history
- Often anonymous in ancient times, the artist became recognized from the Renaissance onwards, to the point of becoming a hero of a novel or a legendary character from the 19th century onwards
- About thirty paintings show the evolution of the recognition of artists, from the appearance of signatures on works of art to self-portraits.
- “Figure d’artiste” gives the opportunity to see the greatest painters again: Rembrandt, Le Brun, Delacroix…
