The national sheepfold of Rambouillet

It is a superb 800-hectare farm built under Louis XVI. Stables, old stables, sheepfolds, a farmyard… . Each year, the national sheepfold attends the birth of more than 1000 lambs (the Merinos of Rambouillet). It welcomes families for visits, workshops, and to attend the feeding of animals. It is a superb set of farmhouses where children will discover the life of animals and the functioning of a rural farm.

We like:

  • Educational tools (such as a treasure hunt) are made available to children to awaken them to the rural world , to teach them how a farm works, how animals live, what they eat, when births take place. They will be made aware of ecology, sustainable developmentand sustainable development.
  • fun workshops, demonstrations around milk, gardening, animal care, feeding…
  • The meeting with the goats at 5 p.m.
  • Horse-drawn carriage rides on Wednesdays (tickets on site)
  • the Arboretum and the barefoot trail of the garden of Montorgueil during your visit
