The recipe of our childhood
It’s the recipe our mom used to make for us when we were little (and which has passed from house to house and that we continue to make for our children). It’s the evening dessert to make quickly when the fridge shelves are empty! This recipe is great to make with the family, even with toddlers.
THE INGREDIENTS (for about 6 to 8 small jars or ramekins):
- 1/2 l milk
- 3 eggs
- 75 g sugar
- Flavor: 1 teaspoon of liquid vanilla or 1 sachet of vanilla sugar
THE RECIPE
- Preheat the oven (gas mark 6 or 180°). And place a large dish filled with water and capable of holding the ramekins (to bring the water in the bain-marie up to temperature)
- Boil the milk with the sugar
- In a bowl, beat the whole eggs
- Gradually pour in the boiling milk, stirring well
- Add the fragrance
- Pour into the ramekins and cook them in a hot bain-marie.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes (as soon as the top starts to take color).
TRICKS:
1 – You can use a porcelain dish to cook your eggs with milk (it’s more like a family dessert around the table).
2 – Make sure the double boiler dish is large enough to hold your porcelain dish
