The Théâtre de l’Essaïon is located in one of the medieval cellars of the former Hôtel de l’Aigle d’Or in the Marais district. (at 6 rue Pierre au Lard in the 4th arrondissement). A place for the presentation of contemporary plays in the 80s, then a place dedicated to musical theatre, it was taken over by the Aktéon Théâtre team in 2006. The Théâtre de l’Essaïon offers a varied programme, especially for young audiences, with plays and musical shows.
