  • Place: Musée Maillol (Paris 7th)

The Giacometti exhibition at the Musée Maillol in Paris presents 50 sculptures by the artist, all from the collection of the Giacometti Foundation, through a chronological and thematic tour. The exhibition offers a rereading of Giacometti’s works in dialogue with the great classical and modern sculptors of his time.

L’exposition Giacometti : une exposition à taille d’enfant

The Giacometti exhibition “between tradition and avant-garde” presents fifty sculptures by Giacometti, from his beginnings to the famous “walking man” of the 60s. The exhibition is very accessible to young people. Clear, sober, didactic without being boring. The presentation is chronological and thematic. It begins with Giacometti’s lesser-known pre-war works. We discover a Giacometti who seeks his inspiration sometimes from the Surrealists, sometimes from the tribal arts. The exhibition ends on a high note with the large, filiform and mythical sculptures that have made the artist famous. In particular, we will admire the series of “The Walking Man”.

L’exposition Giacometti : un dialogue entre l’artiste et ses contemporains sculpteurs

The Giacometti exhibition puts the artist’s works into perspective with those of the great names in classical and modern sculpture of his time. The exhibition presents 25 works by major artists alongside Giacometti’s sculptures. The exhibition seeks to highlight the relationship between Giacometti and his masters (Bourdelle, Maillol, Rodin) and Giacometti’s avant-garde sculptors and contemporaries such as Brancusi, Zadkine, or Laurens…
