Anselm Kieffer à Paris
- Anselm Kiefer is one of the greatest contemporary painters, along with Georg Baselitz , whose exhibition at the Centre Pompidou is currently having a very good exhibition
- A German painter influenced by Nazism, Kiefer presents on the occasion of this exhibition, some twenty monumental works dedicated to the German poet Paul Celan
- Paul Celan’s entire body of work focuses on the Shoah. After experiencing the horror of the camps where he lost his entire family, he set out throughout his life to use poetry as a tool against oblivion and barbarism
- The exhibition Anselm Kiefer ‘for Paul Celan’ is presented as if we were in the artist’s studio. A huge hangar with the paintings installed on trestles on wheels (as in his workshop). At the back of this shed, a reproduction of the shed, a reserve of materials and objects that Kiefer accumulates in his studio and uses according to his inspiration in his paintings (plants, barbed wire, etc.).
- This short exhibition is an opportunity to discover the work of Anselm Kiefer in Paris.
- It’s strong, disturbing, different. A work for which it is impossible to be indifferent!
