A magnificent exhibition

  • Vivian Maier’s work was discovered late in 2007 and somewhat by chance at an auction
  • Housekeeper and photographer, born in New York in 1926, she left more than 140,000 photos never shown during her lifetime
  • A witness to her time through her photographs, this photographer with an atypical career was a free, independent, feminist and committed woman
  • Her photos are realistic, touching, some tender when she photographs children and sometimes tinged with humor

  • Opening hours : Monday to Sunday from 10:30 am to 7 pm
  • Open all public holidays except May 1st and December 25th (from 10:30 am to 6 pm on December 24 and 31)
  • Late opening on Mondays until 10 p.m.
  • At the Musée du Luxembourg (in the 6th arrondissement)
  • Free for young people under 26 years old from Monday to Friday
