Guided tour for the little ones at the Orangery

Pitch of the visit “Around the Water Lilies”

A visit in two stages, Monet’s Water Lilies, then the meeting with the masters of Impressionism in the Modern Art collection.

The tour begins in the spectacular Water Lily Room. The children, in complete immersion, surrounded by Monet’s works, will decipher and understand the paintings with the help of the tour guide: why can’t we see the sky in these water lilies? And why is it so bizarrely drawn? What is “a water lily”?

Can we paint anything other than landscapes? Why are Soutine’s characters all “traviole”? And those of the Douanier Rousseau, a little “weird” too! The children will become familiar with the question of gender in painting. They will be told about Matisse, Renoir, Cézanne and Picasso. But also techniques, models or resemblance. A first artistic and sensory approach to Art adapted to the youngest.
