A storyteller and a musician invite children to discover the instruments through the magic of storytelling. A dialogue between words and music where humour, tenderness and humanity meet. A family activity

The Concerts-Promenades, from 4 years old :

The concerts-promenades allow musicians, storytellers or dancers to take over the Museum by offering concerts, performances, workshops… The museum thus becomes a place of music and living art, from which meeting and discovery are born

Workshops – Exhibitions :

The workshops-exhibitions invite you to share a moment of discovery and musical games with your family around the themes of the exhibitions. They conclude with a short presentation of the exhibition, which participants can then visit freely.

  • ORCHESTRANIMAL (as a prelude to the visit of the Musicanimale exhibition): with the family, for everyone from 7 years old
  • THE SOUND OF FELA (as part of the Fela Anikulapo Kuti exhibition): with the family, for everyone from 10 years old

Concerts – Walks, for 6 – 12 year olds:

The concerts-promenades allow musicians, storytellers or dancers to take over the Museum by offering concerts, performances, workshops… The museum thus becomes a place of music and living art, from which meeting and discovery are born

The Museum of Music

The Musée de la Musique is located in La Villette, in the Cité de la Musique, 300m from the Philharmonie de Paris. It has one of the finest collections of instruments in the world, from the Middle Ages to the present day.

  • More than 7000 works and objects are on display at the Musée de la musique
  • The museum presents the works in chronological order: the birth of opera, the music of the Enlightenment, Romantic Europe, the acceleration of history…
  • The last room is dedicated to instruments from all over the world
  • Exceptional pieces : Paganini’s violin, Chopin’s piano, Berlioz’s guitars, Brel, Brassens and Django Reinhardt, Grappelli’s violin
  • Every day, a musician plays and presents his instrument
  • the Musée de la Musique offers many activities for children and teenagers
