An exceptional event, dedicated to felines and more particularly the Lynx. For 2 days, entertainment, concerts and meetings will be offered to families at the Jardin des Plantes. A fun and educational program and free for all. The sites that are usually paid will also be paid on June 10 and 11.

THE PROGRAM OF THE FELINE FESTIVAL

  • The themes : “An organisation for the conservation of felines”, “The felines in question”, “Lynx and other felines in France”, The boreal lynx in France”
  • Activities : exchanges with specialists, moulding, mask making, etc.

Pascal Parisot sings of cats, their lives as pasha and their dances of cha cha cha. An exceptional open-air concert, full of little felines, poetry and rhythm, for the whole family!

On the occasion of International Lynx Day, the Museum is pleased to unveil its ephemeral work “Lynx Walks” by street artist Nexer. See you for the artist’s last bomb shots and discover an exceptional anamorphosis.

Come and discuss “felines” with the team of the podcast Bestioles, co-produced by the Museum and France Inter. The opportunity to discover the backstage of the creation of this program: from writing to broadcasting. What characteristics of their anatomy made it possible to construct the scenarios? How are their personalities invented? How do their adventures take shape in sound version? Lynx, saber-toothed tiger or cheetah, these critters are not told at random!

MAKEUP

Tiger, cat, cheetah? To the delight of children, a make-up workshop to make up as your favourite feline… In partnership with the Institut Technique de Maquillage Paris

LOTTO GAME

Take part in a lotto game inspired by the Buffon with your family: an illustrated lotto game, decorated with all species. This game, printed in thefourteenth century, is now kept in the Museum’s Central Library. It takes its name from Georges-Louis Leclerc, Count of Buffon (1707-1788), a famous naturalist who directed the Jardin Royal des Plantes for nearly 50 years. Discover this revisited version; Souvenirs are to be won!

ON THE TRAIL OF THE LYNX

Discreet, a symbol of the wild world and a hymn to beauty, the lynx amazes and intrigues us despite the rare encounters. Put yourself in the shoes of the animal to discover its home range and the traps it encounters on its way.

AT THE SCHOOL OF THE LION CUBS

This tale transports children into the adventures of Nuru, a little lioness who describes the games and lives of the young lions of her clan. Throughout history, visitors are invited to make choices… lion choices!

THE FELINES OF THE SAVANNAH

A meeting with the scientific facilitators around diversity, food and the threats to the felines of the African savannah.

Come and live feline and funny adventures with four stories full of mischief by the storyteller Violaine Joffart. A moment to share with the little ones. Meet Cours Cuvier.

THE SCULPTED BESTIARY OF THE JARDIN DES PLANTES

This walk invites you to discover the restored bronze and stone bestiary that adorns the paths of the Jardin des Plantes and the Menagerie. In this veritable open-air museum, felines are among the witnesses of a century and a half of animal sculpture.
