“Basquiat? Warhol, with four hands”

  • It is a meeting between Andy Warhol, a figure of Pop Art, so well known for his Marilyn or his Campbell’s soup cans made of silkscreens, and Jean-Michel Basquiat , an undeniable figure of the New York underground scene of the 80s, inspired in his painting by graffiti and street art.
  • This unique exhibition reveals the works that Basquiat and Warhol produced together, signed by “four hands” – thus operating a symbiosis of their art, a third entity in a way! An extraordinary face-to-face!
  • To browse the most important exhibition ever devoted to this set of works in the buildings of the Fondation Louis Vuitton is to enter an artistic universe in fusion!
  • From their meeting and the world of nightlife was born a deep friendship between the two artists who, mutually, nourished an artistic energy still unknown
  • It’s a very beautiful Parisian exhibition that allows you to see and feel several levels of reading, different emotions. Children will immediately find their mark in front of the works of Jean-Michel Basquiat, who uses the line of children’s drawings and graffiti, as well as in front of the mass-produced and colorful ones of Andy Warhol.

An explosion of colors and shapes that will hook the whole family, without a doubt! An ideal outing with children and teenagers, even when the weather is nice, to enjoy the incredible outdoor spaces offered by the architecture of the LVMH Foundation building

The Fondation Louis Vuitton and the architecture of Franck Gehry

  • The Fondation Louis Vuitton was born from the patronage of the LVMH group and has set itself the goal of making art and culture accessible to all. It organizes temporary exhibitions of modern or contemporary art, presenting works from its collections or organizing musical events, screenings, symposiums, etc. Also, family discovery tours and workshops forchildren, teenagers and even babies !
  • The Foundation has been open to the public since 2014 in theBois de Boulogne district in a magnificent building in the shape of a ship that we owe to Franck Gehry, considered one of the most important architects of the 21st century. It is to him that we owe the buildings of the Cinémathèque Française in Paris, where children like to go so much. He is also responsible for the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, the capital of the Spanish Basque Country.
  • The Foundation’s building is an architectural work in itself, which was designed with innovative materials such as large curved glass panels that receive light. They reflect the clouds, giving a sense of change and perpetual evolution! Set like a boat in the middle of the Bois de Boulogne, many furnished terraces have a breathtaking view of the Jardin d’Acclimatation , access to which is included in the price of the entrance ticket.
  • The exteriors of the Fondation Louis Vuitton reveal contemporary layouts that reserve a lot of surprises during a peaceful stroll around the pools. An ideal walk with the children when it’s hot in the shade of this superb building that is never too big.
