“Metamorphoses”, the exhibition that explores the phenomenon of transformation through science and imagination!
“Metamorphoses” is an exhibition that leads children to develop their curiosity through the theme of transformation and modification presented from several angles. By putting them on the trail of questioning and questioning, the Cité des Sciences introduces the youngest to the scientific process where the imaginary and the marvellous find a place of choice
- After “Fragile” (2022-2023) and “Banquet” (2021-2022), the Cité des Sciences et de L’industrie continues its exhibitions for 6-11 year olds
- With “Metamorphoses” children explore the world of mutation through five themes:
- The first theme is that of “the wonderful forest”... where mysteries and magic are exercised through tales and narratives… The children question the metamorphosis of the insects and plants hidden in the forest, real or imaginary…
- “My beautiful mirror“ will give children the opportunity to approach the image of themselves, the one they dream of or the one they perceive. But also to question the future through magic mirrors, invisible truths or to see oneself grow and change
- “The World of Shadows” is a staging that accompanies the youngest towards the difference between beings. Emotions, changes in our moods are shadows that we cannot grasp… A large shadow theatre will allow children to play at being scary with the modification of its projection
- The “A Thousand and One Looks” space opens up a reflection on the perception of what we see, what we feel of the real world. Imagine yourself as Alice in Wonderland. How would we see the world as small as an ant or as big as a giant? To understand that we don’t all see the same things…
- And finally, it is with the evocation of “The Funfair” that the route of this beautiful exhibition ends. The funfair is a place where science and imagination mingle and meet magicians, scientists and physicists, chemists and artists! All the transformations are brought together in this abundant meeting where science is part of the show!
