“The musical fountains show of Versailles”: a very nice family outing
- During the Musical Fountains Show of Versailles, the groves and ponds of the park of the Palace of Versailles are exceptionally staged for the public
- The groves (small enclosed spaces hidden in the heart of the park and usually closed to the public) then became accessible to all
- The pools are filled with water, all to the rhythm of baroque music
- At the time of the Musical Fountains Show, you can walk among the park’s 15 groves , its 55 fountains and ponds and its hundreds of statues
- The groves in the park are decorated with fountains, vases and statues. They are accessed through discreet alleys and they bring surprise and fantasy to the interior of the Royal Garden. Louis XIV and his court used to go there to have a snack, listen to music or dance. The king could thus satisfy his taste for play and spectacle in these veritable open-air salons reserved for celebration and entertainment. Children will love to “get lost”!
- The Musical Fountains Show takes place every weekend until October 24 and on public holidays except May 1
- The groves are open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., the music takes place from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and the water from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 5:20 p.m
- There are 2 different routes: one in the morning with an approximate duration of 1h30 and another in the afternoon (duration about 2 hours), but nothing prevents you from staying all day and doing both routes! You can stay for a picnic or lunch in one of the park’s restaurants and/or take a boat or bike ride (rental possible)
