Jumping, turning, walking, meeting: do as you want!
With “Dance”, the Cité des Sciences invites children to get moving! The theme is universal, joyful and interactive…
It is a very rhythmic exhibition for young audiences that is also catchy for parents, and which takes place in five stages: “Turn”, “jump”, “walk”, “meet” and “settle”
Thanks to very well done devices with choreographers, the little ones practice inventive body expression and interact with small choreographies
The exploration of the world is also the diversity of musical cultures: flamenco, roundness, disco of the 70s! Hand in hand, front, side… we jump, we lose our balance!
Every 30 minutes, a ball will even be an opportunity to learn three dances through the ages.
But don’t panic! The course ends with the theme “settling down” which allows children to understand the limits of the body in a calmer, more contemplative time.
Labelled Cultural Olympiad by Paris 2024, this exhibition explores the links between art and sport and also talks about the values defended by the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games
Our Community Manager’s opinion
“The Dancing exhibition is simply brilliant. It allows children and even adults to try out a lot of different dances. My daughters had a lot of fun doing the tour. And all the workshops are fun! We recommend it! (mom and two little girls aged 3 and 4) – July 16, 2024
Around the exhibition
Don’t forget to consult the agenda of the Cité des Sciences to register for the activities
- The Activity Book (€6): it is a dance book with 32 activities: alone, in pairs, with others or with parents and which are practiced both inside and outside but often with music. To prolong the experience and emotions discovered during the exhibition
- Brain Dance : move your neurons – From 4 years old : To understand that dance is also in the head!
- Dancing with science – From 6 years old : Better understand your senses and the physics that allows you to keep your balance? Test your rhythm and use dance to communicate, like the Maori or the bees do.
