Yves Saint Laurent’s Flowers
A fascinating and joyful exhibition designed as a huge bouquet of flowers
- From the exhibition “Les Fleurs d’Yves Saint Laurent” at the Yves Saint Laurent Museum , we come out totally dazzled by all the colors and patterns used by the man who still embodies Parisian haute couture
- Designed as a huge romantic garden, the exhibition retraces Yves Saint Laurent’s immoderate taste for flowers of all kinds, which he decorated in the interiors of the apartments and residences he lived in with Pierre Bergé
- We have in mind, of course, the sumptuous Majorelle Garden in Marrakech, recognized as one of the most beautiful in the world and which has served so much as the inspiration of the designer
- Over the course of the exhibition, which is punctuated by works by Sam Falls, who uses the direct printing of plants on fabric, thirty mannequin silhouettes emerge … accessories and documents, drawings and photos to show all the richness of the repertoire and motifs used by the stylist
The rose of love, the lily of the valley, the wheat, the bougainvillea and the lily…
- From room to room, iconic pieces attract us : the wedding dress with silk gazar flowers worn by the magnificent Laetitia Casta in 1999, or the dresses of the spring-summer 2001 collection with prints inspired by the works of Pierre Bonnard…
- Without overloading, we are told about the literary references to Proust, who is also crazy by nature!
- This wonderful exhibition, a stone’s throw from the Trocadero and the Eiffel Tower , is a vast meadow where it will be pleasant to get lost with the children. All the flowers of summer to remember the holidays!
